Committee Members Barb & Jack Ball of Old Forge ignored showers on June 21st and put in a productive day scraping paint from the crossbars and cab interior. Hans Schmid, in the photo below, climbed to the summit with Co-Chair Patrick Ferrick at 8am and worked all day removing old paint from the cab interior and rust from the steel braces.

Bang, boom, clatter - the sound of paint scrapers and wire brush on metal greeted summit visitors all day June 21st while committee members worked to prep the tower for repainting. Forest Ranger Doug Riedman joined us in the cab - to finalize plans for our next scheduled  work session -  July 12th & 13th. Projects for the Summer of 2003 include replacement of the steps and security fencing, repainting the roof, cab, and steel braces. Photos by Peg Masters, Sec. of FBM
